Environmental Technician 🌱 Hands-On Fieldwork. Support Remediation. Protect the Environment. Pay: $32.00 per hour Position Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt Location: Wheat Ridge, Colorado (Company HQ; position is Field-Based) Travel: Local & Regional (typically within 2 hours) Reports To: Project Manager The Role The Environmental Technician is a field-based, individual contributor role supporting Tasman’s environmental remediation and oil & gas projects. This position assists with site decommissioning, sampling, environmental monitoring, and equipment operation while adhering to strict safety and regulatory standards. This role is ideal for early-career professionals seeking hands-on experience in environmental fieldwork, remediation activities, and compliance-driven projects. The Technician operates under the direction of Project Managers and senior staff while building foundational technical skills within Tasman’s field operations. What You’ll Be Doing Field Operations & Environmental Support Conduct soil, groundwater, surface water, and air samplingPerform well development and groundwater samplingOperate and maintain field monitoring and sampling equipmentAssist with excavation oversight and remediation activitiesHandle waste materials and perform decontamination proceduresConduct free product removal as requiredSupport asbestos surveys, abatement, and waste management activitiesAssist other field personnel to support overall project execution Data Collection & Documentation Collect accurate environmental data for analysis and reportingPrepare clear, concise field notes, logs, and documentationSupport preparation of reports and environmental assessmentsEnsure compliance documentation is completed and submitted properly Safety & Compliance Complete Tasman U Basic Field Training and required EHS programsFollow Tasman health & safety procedures, SOPs, and regulatory standardsUse required PPE at all timesCommunicate field issues or deviations to senior staff What You Bring Required Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related field (or relevant technical diploma)0–3 years of experience in environmental fieldwork, remediation, lab analysis, or related workStrong attention to detail and organization skillsClear verbal and written communication abilitiesAbility to work safely on active construction and remediation sitesComfortable working outdoors year-round in varying weather conditionsBasic proficiency with Microsoft Word and ExcelAbility to follow direction and ask questions to grow technical skillsValid driver’s licenseAuthorization to work in the United States Preferred Environmental remediation or oil & gas experienceAdditional field certifications or health & safety trainingFamiliarity with blueprints and compliance protocols Work Environment This position operates 100% in the field and includes: Field Conditions Outdoor work in heat, cold, wind, rain, and snowUneven terrain and active construction environmentsUse of PPE and field monitoring equipmentExposure to environmental hazards and contaminated media Physical Requirements Medium physical effort (up to 50 pounds)Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and equipment use Schedule Full-timeMonday – FridayFlexibility required based on field schedulesOccasional overtime depending on project needs Travel Regular travel to local and regional project sitesTypically within a 2-hour radius of Wheat Ridge, CO Required Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree or relevant technical diploma0–3 years experience in an environmental-focused industry Work Authorization & Screening Must be authorized to work in the United StatesValid driver’s license requiredAbility to pass background check and drug screening Other Duties This job description is not intended to contain a comprehensive list of responsibilities.
