About the role

This role is available at Saputo's Delhi (NY) and Newington (CT) facilities, offering a unique opportunity to drive significant and sustainable progress in environmental management and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Oversight and management of the facility’s Environmental Management System (EMS) to ensure environmental compliance and progress against sustainability goals.
  • Engage and collaborate with teams across the plant structure, including operations, maintenance, sustainability, compliance, engineering, and sanitation.
  • Develop and implement tactical plans for reducing energy, water, and waste, and monitor and measure environmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Advocate for resources needed to implement the EMS, build capability within the site, and communicate environmental progress and impact to key stakeholders.
  • Facilitate continuous environmental performance improvement, focusing on sustainability improvements in the near term.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Environmental Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of/experience in dairy industry is desirable.
  • At least 3 years of working experience in a manufacturing plant, with technical capacity for assessing and optimizing utility systems.
  • Hands-on problem solver with a coachable attitude.
  • Experience in executing an effective resource conservation program, project management in a manufacturing setting, collecting and analyzing KPIs, implementing environmental management systems, and relevant professional certifications.

Qualifications

  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office, data modeling/analytics, and familiarity with Programmable Logic Controls (PLCs).
  • Ability to travel between site locations on a regular basis, at least once per month (3-4 days).

Benefits

Salary range: $90,000 - $105,000, plus bonus. Offers may be commensurate with experience, skills, education, and training.
