Risk Management Manager

Responsibilities

• Designs, organizes, coordinates, and implements the Risk Management Program.
• Controls and minimizes loss to protect human, physical, and fiscal assets of the organization.
• Participates in performance improvement data collection, activities, and functions.
• Facilitates reporting of safety data/events.
• Evaluates risk management program(s) through data capture, follow-up, and trend analysis.
• Presents findings to appropriate committees.
• Assists with the development and implementation of initiatives, policies, and procedures regarding risk reduction/elimination.
• Aids in the development of staff education activities.
• Oversees grievance process.
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams on problem identification and resolution.
• Manages cost containment issues and implements new services/systems.
• Collaborates on performance measures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing or healthcare related field preferred.
• Fellow or Diplomat of American Society of Healthcare Risk Managers, or Associate in Risk Management (ARM) or Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM), preferred.
• Five years clinical and/or management experience in a multidisciplinary health care setting, including at least two years of Risk Management experience in an acute care setting preferred.
• Experience in risk management and/or professional liability claims management preferred.
• Knowledgeable about current State Laws and Regulations applicable to the facility.
