MPS Group, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Supervisor to join our team at the Ford Claycomo plant in Kansas City, MO.
About the role
This individual will oversee and coordinate environmental management programs to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company policies, with a focus on handling hazardous waste at the plant.
Schedule
C Shift: Friday 6:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Saturday 6:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Sunday 6:00 p.m. – 4:30 a.m., Monday 6:00 p.m. – 4:30 a.m.
Responsibilities
- Develop TIS (Task Instruction Sheets) and review these safety documents with the crew routinely, evaluating safety hazards and enforcing necessary precautions, procedures, and PPE.
- Inspect equipment and small tools to ensure proper working condition; red tag and remove damaged, broken, or malfunctioning items from service.
- Provide direction, equipment, small tools, materials, and supplies to support the crew.
- Act as a customer or client liaison.
- Prepare and submit job reports as directed by the site manager, director, or customer.
- Make recommendations on equipment purchases, personnel needs, equipment maintenance, and related matters.
- Operate mobile equipment, such as fork trucks and pallet jacks.
- Wear appropriate safety gear, including a respirator, while handling hazardous waste.
- Load semi-trailers, tanks, and roll-off boxes for shipment to disposal facilities.
- Perform and document daily equipment inspections prior to use.
- Clean and maintain the organization and compliance of the Hazardous Accumulation Area.
- Respond to chemical spill incidents by placing adsorbents on liquids, sweeping or vacuuming solids, and containerizing cleaned-up materials for proper disposal.
- Assist the Project Manager with daily supply delivery, waste pick-up, and waste organization.
- Perform inspections of waste storage areas and emergency equipment, taking corrective action to eliminate deficiencies.
- Inventory and inspect waste spill kits.
- Maintain necessary documentation of waste inventories, inspections, and other required activities.
- Operate a fork truck to load and unload trucks and operate burden carriers.
- Follow all plant-related safety guidelines.
Requirements
- Minimum of two years of experience in waste management.
- Position requires wearing a respirator and additional PPE.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug test.
