Environmental Services Technician - PRN - Days

Responsibilities

• Empty waste baskets.
• Sweep, scrub, wax, or polish floors using brooms, mops, or powered scrubbing and waxing machines.
• Demonstrate knowledge of housekeeping processes, tools, and techniques in a healthcare environment and apply this to provide a clean and sterile environment for patients/residents and facility staff.
• Clean patient/resident rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas as needed to meet health standards.
• Wear proper protective equipment following appropriate guidelines.
• Keep storage, equipment, and carts well‑stocked, clean, and tidy.
• Use pagers and other technology appropriately when needed.
• Assist in laundry areas as appropriate.
• Depending on location and program availability, may use technology applications.
• Perform physical activities including considerable use of arms and legs, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, twisting, squatting, and handling materials.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 40‑50 lbs and push/pull variable weight limits on flat surfaces or up and down ramps.
• Remain on feet for the majority of the shift.
• May be exposed to certain levels of noise from equipment operation.
• Work hours vary based on patient/resident needs and may include overtime, call, backup call, nights, days, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of six months housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
• Ability to use a computer; prior cleaning experience helpful.
• Knowledge of materials, equipment, cleaning methods, and cleaning chemicals helpful.
• Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills required.
• Previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment preferred.

Pay

Salary Range: $13.50 – $17.00 per hour.

Schedule

Shift: 8 Hours – Day Shifts. Job Schedule: PRN. Weekly Hours: Varies (may include overtime, call, backup call, nights, days, weekends, and holidays depending on patient/resident needs).
