Environmental Services Technician (Non-Exempt)

About the role

The Environmental Services Technician is responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and sanitation tasks throughout the healthcare facility to ensure compliance with infection control standards and regulatory requirements. This position plays a critical role in promoting a healthy and hygienic environment conducive to patient healing and well-being.

Responsibilities

  • Perform cleaning and sanitation tasks throughout the healthcare facility
  • Ensure compliance with infection control standards and regulatory requirements
  • Play a critical role in promoting a healthy and hygienic environment
  • Push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
  • Prolonged standing and walking each shift
  • Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Prior Hospital Environmental service experience
  • Prior work experience following written and verbal instructions
  • Previous experience with performing manual tasks
  • Previous experience working with the public; customer service

Skills

  • Physical stamina to perform tasks requiring pushing, pulling, and lifting 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, kneeling, twisting, and squatting
