Environmental Services Technician - Long Term Care (LTC)

About the role

Responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment in patient/resident areas and common spaces by adhering to infection control and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Waste disposal, floor cleaning, waxing, polishing, and using cleaning equipment such as mops and powered machines
• Ensure proper use of protective equipment and keep supplies and equipment well-maintained and organized
• Assist in laundry operations as needed
• Utilize technology tools appropriately
• Perform physical activities like lifting up to 40-50lbs, climbing, walking, and handling materials, often standing for extended periods
• Work hours may vary based on patient/resident needs, including overtime, weekends, holidays, and nights

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Six months or more of housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience preferred
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of cleaning materials, equipment, and chemicals helpful
• Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills required
• Healthcare custodial experience preferred
• Must comply with drug-free workplace policies and pass pre-employment screening
