About the role
The Environmental Services Technician is responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and sanitation tasks throughout the healthcare facility to ensure compliance with infection control standards and regulatory requirements. This position plays a critical role in promoting a healthy and hygienic environment conducive to patient healing and well-being.
Responsibilities
- Perform cleaning and sanitation tasks throughout the healthcare facility
- Ensure compliance with infection control standards and regulatory requirements
- Contribute to a healthy and hygienic environment conducive to patient healing and well-being
Requirements
- Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift
- Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
Qualifications
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent
- Experience: Prior Hospital Environmental service experience
- Experience: Prior work experience following written and verbal instructions
- Experience: Previous experience with performing manual tasks
- Experience: Previous experience working with the public; customer service
Skills
- Physical stamina and strength to perform physical tasks
- Attention to detail for sanitation and infection control
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Customer service skills for interacting with patients and staff
