About the role

The Environmental Services Technician position at Sanford Health's Bismarck Med Ctr is dedicated to maintaining a safe and sanitary environment in patient/resident rooms and assigned areas. The role involves tasks such as emptying waste baskets, sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, or polishing floors, and using various cleaning equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and sterile environment for patients/residents and facility staff.
• Empty waste baskets, sweep, scrub, wax, or polish floors.
• Use brooms, mops, or powered scrubbing and waxing machines.
• Clean patient/resident rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas.
• Wear proper protective equipment following guidelines.
• Keep storage, equipment, and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy.
• Assist in laundry areas as needed.
• Use technology applications as available.
• Perform physical activities including considerable use of arms and legs, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, twisting, squatting, and handling materials.
• Lift and/or move up to 40-50lbs and push/pull up variable weight limits on flat surfaces or up and down ramps.
• Work on their feet for most of the shift.
• Be exposed to certain levels of noise from equipment.
• Work hours may vary depending on patient/resident needs, including overtime, call, backup call, nights, days, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of six months housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
• Ability to use a computer and prior cleaning experience is helpful.
• Knowledge of materials, equipment, cleaning methods, and cleaning chemicals is helpful.
• Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills are required.
• Previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.

Qualifications

Pay

$15.00 - $22.50 per hour, plus a $2,500.00 hiring bonus.

Schedule

Full time, 40 hours a week, 4:30pm to 1:00am, some weekend and holidays.
