About the role

The Advanced Environmental Services Technician at Mercy Hospital Perry is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sterile environment to support patient care and safety.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and organized hospital environment
• Ensure compliance with infection control protocols
• Perform routine cleaning tasks using appropriate equipment and chemicals
• Assist in the preparation of patient rooms and areas
• Follow written and verbal instructions from supervisors and other staff members
• Handle and transport medical waste according to established procedures
• Communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and other staff members

Qualifications

• Prior Hospital Environmental Service experience
• Experience following written and verbal instructions
• Previous experience with manual tasks
• Experience working with the public and providing customer service

Physical Requirements

• Push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly
• Prolonged standing and walking each shift
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
