About the Role
The Environmental Services Technician performs a variety of cleaning and sanitation tasks throughout the healthcare facility to ensure compliance with infection control standards and regulatory requirements. This position plays a critical role in promoting a healthy and hygienic environment conducive to patient healing and well-being.
Responsibilities
- Perform cleaning and sanitation tasks in accordance with infection control standards.
- Maintain a hygienic environment to support patient healing and well-being.
- Follow written and verbal instructions to complete assigned duties.
- Engage in manual tasks such as pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Interact with the public and provide customer service as needed.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- No formal education required.
- No prior experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Prior hospital environmental services experience.
- Experience following written and verbal instructions.
- Previous experience performing manual tasks.
- Prior experience working with the public or in customer service.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly push, pull, and/or lift up to 50 pounds.
- Prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
