Environmental Services Technician - Bemidji Medical Center - FT
About the role
The Environmental Services Technician position at Sanford Health's Bemidji Medical Center is dedicated to maintaining a safe and sanitary environment for patients, visitors, and associates. The role involves a variety of cleaning tasks in patient rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas.
Responsibilities
- Emptying waste baskets
- Sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, or polishing floors
- Using brooms, mops, or powered scrubbing and waxing machines
- Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in patient rooms and assigned areas
- Wearing proper protective equipment as per guidelines
- Keeping storage, equipment, and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy
- Assisting in laundry areas as needed
- Using Sanford technology applications as available
- Performing physical activities such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, twisting, squatting, and handling materials
- Lifting and/or moving up to 40-50lbs and pushing/pulling up to variable weight limits on flat surfaces or up and down ramps
- Standing for the majority of the shift
- Being available for work on holidays, weekends, and evenings as needed
Requirements
No formal education is required. Must meet annual continuing education requirements, including departmental meetings, safety education, and mandatory in-services. Knowledge in general day-to-day housekeeping tasks in various departments/areas of the facility is necessary. Compliance with cleaning policies and procedures for each department is also required.

Skills

Pay
$18.40 - $24.50 per hour
Schedule
Full time, 40.00 weekly hours, shifts start at 8:00am, may include work on holidays and weekends, up to every other weekend.
