About the role
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing complete cleaning of assigned areas, removing waste, and maintaining a safe working environment.
Responsibilities
- Performs complete cleaning of assigned areas to include, but not limited to: dusting and sanitizing furniture, equipment, mirrors and fixtures; washing windows, walls, ceilings, vents and light fixtures; sweeping, scrubbing and refinishing floors; vacuuming and shampooing carpet; replacing light bulbs.
- Reports repairs.
- Removes waste by: collecting and transporting soiled linen; emptying trash containers; changing sharps containers; transporting solid and hazardous waste to compactors; recycling material; emptying cigarette receptacles in smoking areas.
- Maintains equipment clean and orderly and reports equipment failures or other mechanical issues to maintenance staff.
- Ensures compliance with procedures, rules and regulations, infection control guidelines, and departmental quality standards.
- Attends all required in-service education and training classes including safety update programs to maintain technical knowledge.
- Consistently demonstrates the ability to meet time schedules and deadlines.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- One year experience preferred.
- Can prioritize assignments to complete work in a timely manner.
- Can operate equipment.
- Can establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers.
Qualifications
- Must be available to work every other weekend and holidays.
- Must be able to perform tasks that may require the use of a ladder.
- Must be able to handle heavy contact with cleaning chemicals, disinfecting agents, floor strippers and finishes.
- Must be able to work in extreme temperatures and around unpleasant smells.
