Essential Functions

  • Oversees daily staff duties and assignments in the department, and ensures completion that meets the set standard.
  • Evaluates conditions and cleanliness through inspection and quality control measures.
  • Coordinates staff training in proper use of chemicals, equipment processes, and safety issues.
  • Provides leadership to staff aides and floor crew in the absence of the department supervisor.
  • Evaluates daily staff productivity and advises corrective action as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Performs complete cleaning of assigned areas to include, but not limited to: dusting and sanitizing furniture, equipment, mirrors and fixtures; washing windows, walls, ceilings, vents and light fixtures; sweeping, scrubbing and refinishing floors; vacuuming and shampooing carpet; re-stocking restrooms; replacing light bulbs; reporting repairs.
  • Most of the work is indoors but may assist with outdoor cleaning including parking lot, windows, and roof.
  • Various cleaning activities may include the use of a ladder.
  • Heavy contact with cleaning chemicals, disinfecting agents, floor strippers and finishes.
  • Removes waste by: collecting and transporting soiled linen; emptying trash containers; changing sharps containers; transporting solid and hazardous waste to compactors; recycling material; emptying cigarette receptacles in smoking areas.
  • Keeps equipment clean and orderly and reports equipment failures or other mechanical issues to maintenance staff.
  • Maintains safe working environment and provides quality service by complying with procedures, rules and regulations, infection control guidelines, and meeting departmental quality standards.
  • Attends all required in-service education and training classes including safety update programs to maintain technical knowledge.
  • Consistently demonstrates the ability to meet time schedules and deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years experience as a housekeeper aide or similar job.
  • Capable of working independently.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions and complete written forms.
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  • One year experience preferred.
  • Can prioritize assignments to complete work in a timely manner.
  • Can operate equipment.
  • Can establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Continuous walking and standing, with potential for bending, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Potential for highly stressful situations due to customer concerns.
  • All applicants for this position are required to undergo a physical ability test as a condition of employment.
  • Performs repetitive work according to set procedures.
  • Stressful, fast paced.
  • Works in contaminated, isolation, construction and renovation areas.
  • Occasionally works in extreme temperatures and around unpleasant smells.
  • Exposure to individuals with various degrees of mental, physical conditions and illnesses.

Schedule

Full time, 1st Shift - 8:30am to 5:00pm, Monday thru Friday. 40 hours per week.

Pay & Benefits

Pay range: $20.80 - $31.20. Benefits eligible.
