About the role

Wellfound Behavioral Health Hospital is a 120-bed inpatient psychiatric hospital located in Tacoma, Washington. We are Department of Health and Joint Commission accredited, providing acute care to both voluntary and involuntary patients. As an Environmental Services Tech, you will assist where necessary to provide the hospital with a clean and sanitary environment, including patient care areas, administrative areas, and floors.

Responsibilities

  • Use appropriate cleaning techniques, supplies, and safety precautions in cleaning assigned areas and equipment.
  • Adhere to and demonstrate knowledge of all infection control policies and procedures required to maintain the patient care environment.
  • Dispose of all medical waste (regular, recyclable, and regulated) appropriately; knowledgeable of regulatory requirements for correct waste segregation.
  • Use computer to update EPIC as primary tool for tracking individual progress of all work completed throughout the day.
  • Work closely with other staff to obtain or provide routine information, submit work orders, request supplies, and schedule maintenance work.
  • Follow HIPAA and Privacy laws.

Requirements

  • Effective oral and written English communication skills.
  • Ability to independently utilize a computer and enter data multiple times per day.
  • Heart Saver certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Experience in environmental services in a healthcare or hotel setting.

Union membership

As a condition of employment, you must join the SEIU Union within thirty (30) calendar days of employment and remain a member in good standing, unless you submit and are approved for a religious exemption.

  • Hourly pay: $18.04 – $33.45 based on union scale experience.

Schedule
