About the role

The Environmental Services Technician performs a variety of cleaning and sanitation tasks throughout the healthcare facility to ensure compliance with infection control standards and regulatory requirements. This position plays a critical role in promoting a healthy and hygienic environment conducive to patient healing and well-being.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialized cleaning tasks in patient rooms, operating rooms, public areas, and other assigned spaces
• Maintain infection control standards and follow established protocols for sanitation and disinfection
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and supplies
• Collect and dispose of waste materials according to safety and regulatory guidelines
• Restock supplies in assigned areas
• Follow written and verbal instructions to complete tasks efficiently
• Interact professionally with patients, visitors, and staff

Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
• Prolonged standing and walking each shift
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• Prior hospital environmental services experience (preferred)
• Experience following written and verbal instructions
• Previous experience performing manual tasks
• Customer service experience
