Environmental Services Technician Nights

This position is responsible for performing general housekeeping tasks to maintain the facility and associated buildings in a sanitary, safe, and attractive condition and to meet hospital and Joint Commission standards.

Location: Logan Regional Hospital Environmental Services Dept, Logan, Utah
Schedule: Part-Time, 24 hours per week on Nights

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect assigned areas using department cleaning procedures.
• Use cleaning chemicals properly according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards.
• Understand procedures and properly dispose of infectious waste and trash.
• Handle and clean up emergency spills per department guidelines, Joint Commission, and OSHA standards.
• Follow all infection prevention practices (e.g., proper cleaning and disinfection protocols, hand hygiene, standard & isolation precautions, proper donning and doffing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)).
• Maintain work and storage areas following established policy and procedures to ensure safety.
• Cover all areas of the facility; may be asked to carry department work phone and Vocera throughout shift.
• Daily assigned areas may vary depending on staffing.

Requirements

• Demonstrated communication skills, including differentiating color-coded labels and/or chemicals as well as following written and/or verbal directions.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed to meet the needs of the department.
• Professional housekeeping experience (preferred).
• Previous cleaning experience preferred but not required.
• Must be a reliable team player, punctual, hardworking, flexible, self-motivated, and bring a positive attitude to every shift.

Physical Requirements

• Ongoing need to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and assess customer needs.
• Frequent interactions with customers requiring clear communication and understanding of spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues.
• Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy, including frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use.
• Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment; work on hands and knees and bend to set-up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment, including heavy items.
• Stand/walk for 8 hours constantly; ability to bend and get down and up easily.

Pay

The hourly range for this position is $17.68 - $22.99. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
