About the role

The Environmental Services Technician position at Sanford Health is dedicated to maintaining a safe and sanitary environment in patient/resident rooms and assigned areas. The role involves tasks such as emptying waste baskets, sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, or polishing floors, and using various cleaning tools.

Responsibilities

• Emptying waste baskets and sweeping floors
• Sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, or polishing floors
• Using brooms, mops, or powered scrubbing and waxing machines
• Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in patient/resident rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas
• Wearing appropriate protective equipment and following guidelines
• Keeping storage, equipment, and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy
• Assisting in laundry areas as needed
• Using technology appropriately when needed
• Performing physical activities including considerable use of arms and legs, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, twisting, squatting, and handling materials
• Lifting and/or moving up to 40-50lbs and pushing/pulling up to variable weight limits on flat surfaces or up and down ramps
• Standing for the majority of the shift
• Working in environments with varying noise levels due to equipment operation
• Working shifts that may include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays based on patient/resident needs

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of six months housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience
• Ability to use a computer
• Knowledge of materials, equipment, cleaning methods, and cleaning chemicals
• Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment is preferred

Qualifications

Pay

$15.00 - $22.50 per hour

Schedule

Full time, 40.00 weekly hours, 8 Hours - Day Shifts, with potential for overtime, call, backup call, nights, days, weekends, and holidays depending on patient/resident needs.
