Environmental Services Technician - FT - Days

About the role

The Environmental Services Technician at Sanford Health is responsible for maintaining a safe and sanitary environment in patient/resident rooms and assigned areas for patients/residents, visitors, and associates. Tasks include emptying waste baskets, sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, or polishing floors, using brooms, mops, or powered scrubbing and waxing machines. The position requires following infection control, safety, and procedural guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Emptying waste baskets
• Sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, or polishing floors
• Using brooms, mops, or powered scrubbing and waxing machines
• Maintaining a clean and sterile environment for patients/residents and facility staff
• Cleaning various areas including patient/resident rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas
• Wearing proper protective equipment following guidelines
• Keeping storage, equipment, and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy
• Assisting in laundry areas as appropriate
• Using technology applications as available

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Minimum of six months housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience preferred
• Ability to use computer and prior cleaning experience helpful
• Knowledge of materials, equipment, cleaning methods, and cleaning chemicals helpful
• Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills required
• Previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment preferred

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent

Pay

$15.00 - $22.50 per hour, plus a $2,500.00 hiring bonus.

Schedule

Full time, 40 weekly hours, 8 hours per day shifts, varying work hours based on patient/resident needs, including potential for overtime, call, backup call, nights, days, weekends, and holidays.
