Pay
Starting at $18.68 per hour, depending on experience. Shift differentials: $1.10 extra for 3:00 pm–11:00 pm, $1.95 extra for 11:01 pm–7:00 am, and $0.94 extra for weekends.
About the role
The primary responsibility of the Floor Care Specialist for Environmental Services (EVS) is to restore and maintain hard-surface and carpeted floors and to implement assigned EVS projects.
- Provide a clean, healthy, and safe environment for all patients, visitors, and employees through appropriate asepsis techniques.
- Clean occupied rooms, discharge rooms, offices, and common areas, including stocking paper and soap products.
- Maintain carts and equipment according to guidelines.
- Maintain the general appearance of floors, carpets, and furniture to ensure a clean, healthy, and safe environment.
- Scrub, strip, and polish floors with floor machines or electric roto equipment.
- Shampoo and extract carpets and mats.
- Extract and clean fabric and vinyl furniture.
- Follow prescribed floor-care procedures.
- Clean and detail tile and grout using assigned programs.
Requirements
- One year of institutional cleaning experience, including floor finishing and/or carpet cleaning.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience demonstrating effective communication.
Working Environment / Physical Requirements
This position requires continuous physical exertion, including walking and the ability to lift, push, or pull over 50 pounds, bending, stretching, and other awkward physical movements. Exposure to blood and bodily fluids is expected.
