Environmental Services Director

About the role

Oversee the day-to-day operations in the Environmental Services Department as well as Linen Distribution at Catholic Medical Center. Responsibilities include ensuring the hospital stays clean and safe, patient room cleaning, floor care, waste removal, and improving patient satisfaction scores. A $1,500 sign-on bonus is offered for this position.

Responsibilities

• Plan, control, and direct all cleaning, sanitizing, floor care, and waste removal functions within a healthcare facility to meet operating and financial goals, client objectives, and customer needs.
• Take ownership and accountability for operational management and financial performance of the unit.
• Model key leadership behaviors and ensure the highest levels of safety, quality, and service excellence for employees, clients, and consumers.
• Coach employees by creating a shared understanding about what needs to be achieved and how it is to be achieved.
• Reward and recognize employees.
• Identify and engage top talent and develop team members to their fullest potential within the organization.
• Plan and lead team management meetings.
• Ensure safety and sanitation standards in all operations.

Job duties may change or new ones may be assigned without formal notice to meet commitments.

Requirements

• At least 2+ years in an Environmental Services Director role or 3+ years in an Environmental Services Manager role within healthcare.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Healthcare experience within an acute care hospital.
• Proficiency with computer applications.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work under strict deadlines.
• CHESP certification preferred.

Schedule

Primarily Monday through Friday, although it could vary at times.
