We are seeking an experienced and dependable Environmental Services Manager to lead our housekeeping and laundry operations while maintaining a clean, safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for residents, employees, families, and visitors. ✔ Department leadership opportunity ✔ Supportive, team-oriented environment ✔ Partner directly with facility leadership ✔ Opportunities for professional growth and development ✔ Meaningful work that directly impacts resident experience and quality of life Position Overview The Environmental Services Manager is responsible for the daily leadership and operation of the facility's environmental services functions, including housekeeping, laundry, sanitation, infection-prevention practices, department staffing, supply management, and overall facility cleanliness and appearance. This position leads Environmental Services employees, establishes daily priorities, monitors quality and productivity, manages department schedules and supplies, and conducts routine rounds to ensure resident rooms and facility areas meet established standards. The Environmental Services Manager works closely with the Administrator, Nursing, Infection Prevention, Maintenance, and other department leaders to support resident safety, regulatory compliance, survey readiness, and an exceptional resident and family experience. This is a hands-on leadership position. The successful candidate should be comfortable leading employees while also stepping in to support department operations when necessary. Key Responsibilities Department Leadership & Staffing Provide daily leadership and direction to housekeeping and laundry employeesDevelop and maintain department schedules based on facility needsAssign daily work responsibilities and monitor completionCoordinate coverage for call-ins, vacancies, and changing operational needsHelp recruit, interview, onboard, train, and retain Environmental Services employeesProvide ongoing coaching, education, and performance feedbackMonitor employee attendance, productivity, and adherence to facility expectationsAddress performance concerns in partnership with facility leadership and Human ResourcesPromote teamwork, accountability, professionalism, and excellent customer serviceProvide hands-on support to housekeeping and laundry operations when needed Housekeeping Operations Oversee the cleanliness and sanitation of resident rooms, bathrooms, hallways, common areas, offices, dining spaces, and other assigned facility areasEstablish and monitor daily, weekly, and periodic cleaning schedulesConduct routine rounds throughout the facility to identify cleanliness or sanitation concernsEnsure resident rooms are maintained in a clean, comfortable, and respectful mannerMonitor high-traffic and common areas throughout the dayCoordinate room cleaning associated with admissions, discharges, and room changesEnsure cleaning responsibilities are completed according to established standardsRespond promptly to environmental concerns identified by residents, families, employees, or leadership Laundry & Linen Services Oversee facility laundry and linen operationsEnsure resident clothing and facility linens are processed appropriately and returned timelyMaintain appropriate procedures for handling clean and soiled linenMonitor linen availability and inventoryHelp reduce lost or misplaced resident clothing and personal itemsEnsure laundry areas remain clean, organized, and safeMonitor laundry equipment and promptly communicate repair or maintenance needs Infection Prevention & Sanitation Ensure Environmental Services employees follow established infection-prevention and sanitation proceduresMaintain appropriate cleaning and disinfecting practices throughout the facilityEnsure employees understand appropriate use of cleaning products, disinfectants, and personal protective equipmentMaintain appropriate procedures for handling potentially contaminated materials, waste, and soiled linenWork collaboratively with Infection Prevention and Nursing leadership regarding enhanced cleaning needsCoordinate environmental cleaning during outbreaks or other infection-control situationsMonitor hand hygiene, PPE use, and other applicable infection-prevention practices within the departmentMaintain appropriate Safety Data Sheet information and chemical-handling proceduresEnsure chemicals and cleaning supplies are appropriately labeled, stored, and secured Resident Experience Maintain resident rooms and common areas in a manner that promotes comfort, dignity, and quality of lifeTreat residents and their personal belongings with care and respectRespond professionally to resident and family questions or environmental concernsMaintain appropriate privacy and confidentiality while working in resident areasEncourage Environmental Services employees to build positive and respectful relationships with residentsFollow up on housekeeping or laundry concerns to ensure appropriate resolutionPromote a welcoming environment for residents, families, employees, and visitors Supplies, Inventory & Budget Management Monitor housekeeping, laundry, chemical, linen, and departmental supply inventoryMaintain appropriate par levels and order supplies based on facility needsPromote responsible use of supplies and minimize unnecessary wasteMonitor department expenses and operate within established budget expectationsEnsure cleaning products and equipment are used appropriatelyCoordinate equipment repair or replacement needs with appropriate facility leadershipMaintain organized and secure storage areas Qualifications Previous supervisory or management experience strongly preferredSkilled nursing, long-term care, senior living, hospital, or healthcare Environmental Services experience preferredKnowledge of housekeeping, laundry, sanitation, and infection-prevention practicesStrong leadership and employee-management skillsAbility to organize department schedules, assignments, and daily prioritiesStrong attention to cleanliness, safety,
