Responsibilities

• Promotes Patient Safety.
• Cleans patient rooms daily with approved germicide and cleaning chemicals.
• Uses wet floor signs or caution alerts for slippery or hazardous conditions.
• Fulfills infection control procedures including proper hand washing and aseptic technique.
• Works with other hospital staff to ensure a positive patient experience.
• Maintains cleanliness of equipment and closets according to department policies.
• Cleans non-patient areas such as nurses’ stations, offices, public waiting rooms, and restrooms.
• Terminally cleans patient rooms upon discharge to prepare for new admissions.
• Interacts daily with patients, visitors, and staff, promoting a service attitude.
• Affirms that rooms are cleaned daily to the patients' satisfaction.
• Leaves a housekeeper’s note and a hospital packet in each patient room upon discharge cleaning.
• Aware of and follows hospital policy and federal regulations regarding patient confidentiality.
• Tests annually on Safety and Confidentiality.
• Learns MS Office Outlook for emails and takes required annual Stat Tests.
• Trains in the NaviCare system to log into and out of bed tracking.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 1 year of working experience preferred, but not required.
• Basic Reading, Writing, and Math Skills required.
• Basic customer service skills preferred, but not required.
