About the Role
Provides cleaning and sanitizing services to support a safe, clean and welcoming environment at Riley Hospital. Cleans and sanitizes patient rooms, offices, clinics, clinical and procedural areas, and public spaces. Supports patient safety through consistent and high-quality service and demonstrates ability to support the cleaning and disinfection of high-acuity clinical and procedural areas.
Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize patient rooms, offices, clinics, clinical and procedural areas, and public spaces.
- Apply disinfection protocols and utilize approved cleaning tools in accordance with infection control standards and hospital policy.
- Conduct hazardous and biohazardous waste removal in compliance with safety regulations and infection prevention protocols.
- Proactively communicate and collaborate with clinical teams to ensure cleaning processes support patient safety and care flow.
- Interact with patients, family members, and visitors.
- Clean areas that require technical cleaning including IR/Cardiac Cath/Mother-Baby/NICU/OR/ED.
- Operate light floor equipment for cleaning floors in patient care areas.
- Climb ladders as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred.
- No previous experience required.
- Must be able to wear protective equipment/clothing required by the environment or government regulations such as gowns, gloves, goggles, rubber-soled closed-toe footwear, etc.
- Physical requirements include reaching, standing for long periods of time, squatting, bending, carrying and/or lifting supplies and equipment weighing 35 lbs. or more, up to 80% of the time.
Schedule
40 hours per week - Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with an every other weekend and holiday rotation.
