Environmental Services Aide - Full-Time Night Shift (Stony Brook Southampton Hospital)
About the Role
This position involves general environmental duties including wall washing, bed and room cleaning, discharge cleaning, and trash removal. The role requires working in the Operating Room (OR) and performing all duties associated with OR assignments. Employees must be able to work with minimal supervision, prioritize responsibilities, and demonstrate excellent customer service skills in a team-oriented environment. Additional duties may be assigned by management.
Responsibilities
- Perform environmental cleaning tasks such as wall washing, bed and room cleaning, discharge cleaning, and trash removal.
- Work in the Operating Room (OR) and complete all associated duties.
- Operate with minimal supervision and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Provide excellent customer service and work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
- Travel to other locations as needed to support operational requirements.
Requirements
- Ability to read and write simple English.
- Understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English to comprehend in-services and department literature.
- Customer service-oriented mindset.
- Capability to perform heavy physical effort, including lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, reach, stoop, bend, and kneel for prolonged periods.
Pre-Employment Requirements
- Successfully complete a pre-employment physical examination and obtain medical clearance from Stony Brook Southampton Hospital’s Employee Health Services.
- Complete an electronic reference check with a minimum of three professional references.
- Pass a 4-panel drug screen.
- Meet all regulatory requirements for pre-employment screenings.
- Provide a copy of any required New York State license(s) or certificate(s).
Pay
$24.61 - $26.46 per hour.
