Position Summary
The mission of the Environmental Scientist is to perform a variety of environmental services, provide environmental assessments, reports, and evaluations for environmental projects.
Client Perspective
- Prepare scope and fee proposals for new project opportunities and review with client to gain approval.
- Maintain communication with the client during project.
- Maintain client satisfaction through project follow-up after project completion.
- Serve as a business leader in development of projects for clients.
- Serve as the Project Manager on existing and new projects, all phases of the project.
- Oversee the development and selection of new projects and project teams.
- Seek potential supplementary consulting services with existing clients.
- Consult with the regulatory agencies in the review of detailed plans, specifications and estimate of cost to ensure conformity with the project scope and design standards.
- Understand environmental regulations and advise clients.
- Prepare environmental qualification statements for clients.

- Oversee the compliance of environmental projects.
- Prepare basic environmental reports.
- Provide support in department protocols, guidelines, and standards with regards to environmental reports.

- Follow policies and procedures set forth in the Employee Handbook.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Financial Perspective

- Prepare project deliverables according to the planned direct labor and expense budgets outlined by the Project Manager or Practice Leader.
- Review detailed plans, specifications, and estimates of cost to ensure conformity with the project scope and design standards.
- Be cognizant of task budgets and schedules within project requirements.
- Track project expenses for project field supplies and reimbursables.
- Successfully achieve the financial goals set forth for your position (quality work within project budgets, direct labor hours, etc.).

Qualifications
- BS degree in environmental science with 20+ years of experience or MS/MBA with 18 years of experience.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
