Environmental Scientist - Remediation Focus

About the role

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Environmental Scientist to join our Environmental Remediation group in Denver, CO. We are seeking a candidate who is an excellent communicator and technically capable, with an awareness of relevant regulations.

Responsibilities

• Performs standard scientific work requiring application of techniques and procedures.
• Detects problems when using standardized procedures because of the condition of sample, difficulties with the equipment, etc.
• Conducts specific phases of projects for more experienced scientists.
• Proposes appropriate analytical methods and techniques.
• Assists in providing advice and consulting services within scope of scientific knowledge.
• Draws conclusions and makes recommendations based on analysis.
• Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
• Works under general supervision.
• Flexible with working extended hours and locations, travel may be greater than 50 percent of time. Must be able to do day travel regionally.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in environmental sciences or engineering or other related fields, AND two plus (2+) years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and education.
• Valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Subject to a pre-employment Background check.
• Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
• Due to some of the sites, US Citizenship or a permanent resident is required.

Skills

• Subject to professional certifications. 40hr OSHA HAZWOPER certificate.
• Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, GIS applications.

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.

Pay

$55,000 to $85,000 per year.
