Environmental Scientist | Flemington, NJ

Davey Resource Group, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Scientist with 3-5 years of experience to join our growing team in Flemington, NJ. This on-site role involves collaboration with marketing, administration, and other staff scientists. PWS/PWIT certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the performance of field studies including wetland/water resources delineations, endangered and threatened species studies, vegetation community studies, monitoring of wetland mitigation/restoration projects, and wildlife studies.
• Assist in the preparation of technical writings such as wetland delineation reports, environmental assessments/impact statements, endangered and threatened species evaluations, regulatory permit applications, tree survey reports, and other land use studies.
• Participate in team/project meetings and weekly tailgate safety meetings.
• Work safely and independently outdoors under a wide range of conditions and weather types.
• Properly and safely drive, operate, and maintain a vehicle in a variety of terrains and surfaces.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in environmental science, biology, marine science, natural resources, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of relevant work experience in wetland delineation, natural resources permitting, ecosystem restoration, and/or mitigation.
• Working knowledge of environmental regulations pertaining to 401/404 Clean Water Act, NJ Freshwater Wetland Protection Act Rules, NJ Coastal Zone Management Rules, NJ Flood Hazard Area Control Act Rules, PA Chapter 105 permitting, and NEPA.
• Ability to demonstrate technical writing proficiency.
• Ability to perform outdoor field work/site visits in a variety of conditions; some travel required.
• Must possess a valid US driver's license.

Skills

Strong knowledge of or experience in one or more of the following fields is desired:

• Plant identification (including trees/shrubs).
• Soils.
• GIS/GPS, ArcPro, FieldMaps, AutoCAD.
