Environmental Scientist
APTIM Environmental & Infrastructure, LLC is seeking a junior-level Environmental Scientist to participate in a variety of environmental compliance tasks in support of RCRA and state hazardous waste, non-RCRA waste, regulated waste, and hazardous materials management programs. The successful candidate will have a background in data analytics and waste profile management, along with excellent communication skills to facilitate internal and client interactions, supplier engagement, and direction to entry-level staff. This position is primarily office-based.
Responsibilities
- Execute and manage various work scopes while meeting project schedules and budgets.
- Work independently and as part of a project team, adapting to changing conditions.
- Interface occasionally with client personnel at corporate and facility levels.
- Identify data discrepancies and manage resolution of corrections to completion.
- Communicate with regulatory agencies.
- Manage time to ensure quality products are prepared to meet project deadlines.
- Apply knowledge and skills to a wide range of standard and non-standard situations.
- Follow defined processes explicitly while identifying and accommodating new or changing scenarios, and develop processes for new activities.
- Prior experience or training in environmental compliance and related federal and state environmental regulations is required. Specific experience with RCRA, state hazardous waste, non-RCRA waste, and regulated waste compliance is desired.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, a core science (e.g., geology, chemistry, physics, or biology), engineering, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of related work experience.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft applications such as MS Excel, MS Word, and SharePoint Online, with the ability to learn other software applications. Expert Excel skills are required.

Pay
As of the date of this posting, the pay range for this position is $32.69 – $35.10 per hour. Compensation depends on experience, education, key skills, geographic location, client requirements, external market competitiveness, and internal equity.
