Primary Responsibilities

  • Performing environmental field work and supporting report preparation.
  • Delivering high-quality technical services that meet clients' needs and exceed their expectations.
  • Conducting wetland determinations and delineations.
  • Supporting wetland and stormwater permitting processes.
  • Designing and monitoring wetland mitigation projects.
  • Conducting floristic quality assessments.
  • Implementing and inspecting erosion and sediment control best management practices.
  • Preparing stormwater management inspection and permit compliance documentation.
  • Conducting Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessments.
  • Maintaining and documenting remediation projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Geology, or Natural Resources or related field.
  • Professional experience with wetland delineation/assessment, stormwater permitting, environmental due diligence, and/or environmental remediation.
  • Understanding of soil erosion and sediment control best management practices.
  • Experience with permit compliance and erosion and sediment control inspections.
  • Lake County Designated Erosion Control Inspector (DECI) certification, or progress towards DECI certification.
  • Other soil erosion and sediment control designs or inspection certifications (e.g., CPESC, CESSWI) are beneficial.
  • Strong and effective written and verbal communication skills with colleagues, managers, and clients.
  • Strong technical writing skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Office Word and Excel skills.
  • Plant identification experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety protocols.
  • Ability to travel 25%-50% (primarily local).

Pay

The salary range for this position is $75,000-$85,000 annually, commensurate with experience, skills, and qualifications.
