About the role
Intertek is seeking an Environmental Project Scientist to join our Environmental team in Indianapolis, IN. This position offers a versatile career in environmental consulting within our Building and Construction division, providing project-related assurance, testing, inspection, and consulting services.
Responsibilities
- Conduct asbestos inspections, abatement observations, and post-abatement assessments
- Perform lead surveys, XRF sampling, and post-abatement sampling
- Execute mold investigations, air sampling, and indoor air quality (IAQ) studies
- Support environmental due diligence projects and Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESA) research
- Prepare field documentation and reports
- Coordinate project data, records, and reports related to work assignments
- Participate in QA/QC and safety programs
- Conduct field assessments of contaminated soil and groundwater
- Manage client interactions and maintain updated project data
- Coordinate with third-party equipment vendors, subcontractors, and power company vendors
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Management or related field
- 5+ years of experience in environmental site assessments, asbestos, lead-based paint, mold assessments, industrial hygiene, and wetlands
- State of Indiana Asbestos, Lead, or Mold certifications
- 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training
- Knowledge of industrial hygiene (IH) and environmental concepts, principles, and practices
- Proficiency with sampling instrumentation
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to travel up to 15% of the time
- Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record
Schedule
Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (may vary based on project needs).
