A Day in the Life

• Assisting multiple projects by preparing samples for digestion or extraction as needed.
• Taking on tasks such as sample login, weighing, making composites, crushing samples, incremental sampling, product sampling, sample disposal.
• Calibrating and packing equipment for use in-field or in-lab.
• Washing glassware.
• Preparing reagents as needed.
• Conducting simple water quality assays.
• Data entry.
• Performing support tasks as needed.

Requirements

• A High School Diploma.
• Currently enrolled in a local University.
• Basic laboratory techniques (knowledge of PPE, use of balance, pipetting, glassware handling, etc).
• Basic Excel skills required.
• Ability to follow directions and work in a team setting.
• Comfortable working with strong acids and solvents.
• Excellent communication skills required.
• Detail oriented.
• Prior Laboratory experience preferred but not required as this is an intern position.
• Knowledge of analytical method, analytical instruments, general lab practices and lab safety.
• Able to work independently and in a team.
• Good organizational skills and strong communication skills.
• Able to work in a stationary position for entire shift duration.
• Able to lift and move up to 25 lbs independently and 50 lbs using assisted lifting equipment.

Qualifications

Benefits

The compensation range for this role is $19.30, commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location.
