Environmental Engineering Intern

Primary Responsibilities

The Environmental Engineering Intern will conduct investigations to determine the scope of a required sewer cleaning and television inspection. Supervises contractor’s work during sewer cleaning or television inspection to ensure compliance with regulations and Contract requirements. Manages projects’ data: complaints, surveys, break sheets, dye tests, video records, reports, etc.

Preferred Skills

  • A valid New York State driver’s license is required.
  • Comfortable with entering sheeted trenches, manholes and underground chambers for inspections under all weather conditions.
  • Comfortable with on-call status.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Knowledge of water and sewer construction, and field experience on water and sewer jobs.
  • Research capabilities.

Qualifications

  • A baccalaureate degree in environmental, fire protection, chemical, mechanical, petroleum, aeronautical, or materials engineering from an accredited college; or
  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in environmental, fire protection, chemical, mechanical, petroleum, aeronautical, or materials engineering technology and two years of full-time satisfactory experience in environmental engineering work.
