Environmental Inspector I - Department of Planning & Land Management
About the role
NorthPoint Health and Wellness is seeking two Behavioral Health Professionals with experience in a team-oriented environment. The positions require psychiatric or mental health experience with either children and young adults or adults and generalized clientele.
Responsibilities
- Consult with team members, Hennepin County staff, and contracted providers regarding diagnosis, treatment, service delivery, and mental health service delivery in the context of clinical review
- Mental health assessments to determine clients’ needs
- Interview and assess mental health status of clients in crisis
- Provide guidance to clients and develop treatment goals and plans
- Write reports of client histories, diagnosis and treatment recommendations
- Provide short-term therapy and crisis stabilization services and refer clients to appropriate mental health services
Requirements
- One of the following: Master’s degree in Psychology AND approved clinical internship in the area of specialization AND licensure as a Psychologist or Psychological Practitioner in the State of Minnesota
- Doctoral degree in psychology obtained from an APA-approved program with appropriate clinical training, or Certification as a Licensed Psychologist. In addition, two years of post-doctoral experience as a clinical psychologist in a medical or mental health setting and appropriate to the area of specialization is required AND licensure as a Psychologist in the State of Minnesota
- Masters degree in social work or closely related field OR licensed as a Graduate Social Worker by the Minnesota Board of Social Work, including field placement or equivalent work experience in a mental health or psychiatric setting
- Masters degree in Social Work or closely related field and two years of post-master's degree experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting AND licensure as an Independent Clinical Social Worker by the Minnesota Board of Social Work
- One of the above and licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist
- None of the above

- Strong therapeutic intervention and diagnostic assessment skills
- Experience working with children, adults and families
- Familiarity with handling mental health crisis, risk assessment and evidence based practice research
- Ability to function well in unpredictable and challenging situations that require sensitivity, flexibility, resourcefulness and independent judgment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge and experience of the application of clinical psychology principles, assessment and service delivery to people of diverse ethnic and cultural heritage
- Additional licensure desirable: Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
