Key Responsibilities
- Review and interpret environmental impact statements, permits, and regulatory requirements applicable to pipeline projects.
- Conduct pre-construction environmental surveys and assessments to identify sensitive areas, habitats, and potential environmental concerns.
- Maintain detailed inspection reports, documenting environmental compliance, issues identified, and corrective actions taken.
- Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and regulatory agencies to address environmental concerns and resolve non-compliance issues.
- Provide environmental training and guidance to construction crews on best practices and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in environmental inspection or monitoring, preferably with pipeline or oil and gas projects.
- In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations, permits, and industry best practices related to pipeline construction and operations.
- Familiarity with environmental impact assessment processes, mitigation techniques, and restoration practices.
- Strong understanding of erosion control, stormwater management, and spill prevention techniques.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for report writing and coordination with project teams and regulatory agencies.
- Proficiency in using field monitoring equipment and data collection tools.
- Ability to work outdoors and navigate rough terrain in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
- Relevant certifications or licenses (e.g., Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control, Certified Ecological Restoration Practitioner) preferred.
