Environmental, Health & Safety Specialist
About the role
Novonesis is expanding its production capabilities at its West Allis, WI site and is strengthening its Health & Safety function to ensure a safe, compliant, and proactive working environment.
Responsibilities
- Implementing health and safety programs to support a safe manufacturing environment.
- Conducting safety training in line with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies.
- Leading incident investigations and supporting corrective and preventive actions.
- Conducting and maintaining job hazard analyses.
- Assisting with industrial hygiene surveys and employee programs such as fire prevention, emergency response, evacuation planning, and ergonomics.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety or a related technical field.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in a technical or manufacturing setting.
- Working knowledge of applicable standards and frameworks, including OSHA, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 50001, and related regulations.
- Strong time management and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills in English.
Qualifications
- Professional certifications such as CSP, ARM, ALCH, or CIH.
- Experience supporting industrial hygiene programs or ergonomics initiatives.
- A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement in safety practices.
Skills
- Technical foundation and hands-on experience in health and safety within a manufacturing or technical environment.

Pay
Expected base salary: USD $70,000–$80,000, depending on experience.
Schedule
This role is office-based at our West Allis, WI site. Regular interaction with production and operations areas is expected. Travel is approximately 10%, primarily related to training or site support activities.
