Job Overview
This position is a supporting role reporting to the Environmental, Health & Safety Manager. The incumbent supports operations for Environmental, Health & Safety matters, creating real value for the organization by supporting identifying and mitigating risk and assisting in regulatory matters.
- Maintain compliance with all Federal, State, County and Local Environmental, Health and Safety Regulations, including OSHA, NJDEP, NJDCA and MCUA, in all actions, procedures and policies.
- Support monitoring and maintaining compliance with all Federal, State, County and Local Environmental, Health and Safety Regulations, including OSHA, NJDEP, NJDCA and MCUA, in all actions, procedures and policies.
- Perform weekly, monthly and annual inspections for EHS Compliance.
- Aid in maintaining detailed logs of incidents across all sites.
- Attend Safety Committee meetings, take minutes and ensure necessary paperwork is prepared for meetings.
- Provide input to develop and implement necessary EHS Policies & Procedures.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years in Safety, Security, and Environmental Compliance in manufacturing; Food & Beverage experience preferred.
- OSHA 30 Certification; OSHA 511 preferred.
- AED/CPR/First Aid certified with medical experience.
- Certifications in EHS topics such as LOTO, Forklift, Confined Space.
- Industrial Hygiene expertise (airborne hazards: dust, chemicals, mold, bacteria).
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA General Industry and environmental standards.
- Fire Safety experience.
- Applied Ergonomics knowledge.
- Risk assessment and facility improvement skills.
- Security principles in industrial settings.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
- Influencing peers and strong communication skills.
- Willing to work all shifts; self-motivated and independent with a sense of urgency.
Education, Experience And Training
- Bachelor’s degree in biological science, chemistry, microbiology, food science or manufacturing strongly preferred.
- Master’s Degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in QA/QC, food laboratory and/or food and beverage production required.
- Experience in the implementation of SQF Level 2 or 3 Program.
- HACCP and SQF Certified.
- Food industry experience required.
- Computer proficiency and skills in EXCEL, Word, Microsoft Office and other software programs.
- Must possess excellent analytical, problem-solving and organization skills.
- Willing to be trained.
- Ability to read, speak, and write English is essential, fluent in Spanish and/or English are preferred.
Worksite
- Main office at PIM Brands Pierce Street Location in Somerset, NJ.
- Regular visits between PIM Brands Cottontail & Randolph Locations in Somerset, NJ.
- Occasional visits to PIM Brands Headquarters in Park Ridge, NJ.
