Environmental Health & Safety Specialist

About the role

Legrand is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Specialist to join the Data Center Power and Control Team in Anaheim, CA. This role manages facility EH&S programs to ensure a safe and environmentally responsible working environment and drives an engaged safety culture by implementing safety programs aimed at zero injuries and world-class performance.

Responsibilities

• Monitor safe working conditions by maintaining a strong floor presence.
• Develop, manage, and maintain EH&S programs, including improvement, prevention, and compliance initiatives.
• Drive environmental programs related to air, waste, and wastewater.
• Lead the incident investigation process, including root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action plans.
• Address unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, hazards, and environmental risks; evaluate ensuing corrections.
• Evaluate and recommend safety solutions, including equipment and tool changes to reduce risk and improve ergonomic conditions; collaborate with vendors to test equipment and justify purchases.
• Manage the Safety Committee team, including providing guidance, overseeing safety inspections, creating content for monthly meetings, and ensuring prompt follow-up on open safety tasks.
• Create, distribute, and monitor daily safety talks for department leads and supervisors; ensure associate participation and understanding of materials.
• Implement and assess the effectiveness of training programs required by federal and state EPA, ISO-14001, and OSHA regulations.
• Conduct and coordinate training on safety regulations, hazardous condition monitoring, and use of safety equipment; maintain training records.
• Facilitate and lead safety training events, EH&S activities, process improvements, visual controls, and other ad hoc programs.
• Manage initiatives for ongoing ergonomic assessments, evaluations, and continuous improvement to reduce work-related trauma.
• Inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Ensure EH&S compliance by managing measurements, metrics, reporting, analysis, follow-up, and record-keeping as mandated.
• Align corporate and local EH&S goals and initiatives.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety or related discipline, and/or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in environmental health and safety.
• Manufacturing experience is preferred.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to assemble, arrange, compute, and interpret data to create effective reports and business correspondence.
• Proficient understanding of applicable laws, regulations, and nationally/state-recognized standards related to environmental health and safety.

Pay

$100,000 - $115,000 per year.
