Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and continuously improve EHS programs aligned with Nortek DCC standards, regulatory requirements, and operational priorities.
Serve as the primary EHS leader for the campus, providing visible leadership and coaching across all four buildings.
Apply 80/20 (Pareto) principles to focus resources and actions on the highest-risk, highest-impact hazards and opportunities.
Partner with site leadership to support safe growth, new equipment installs, facility expansions, and process changes.
Build and sustain a strong safety culture emphasizing prevention, ownership, and continuous improvement.
Engage employees and leaders at all levels through behavior-based safety, near-miss reporting, and frontline participation.
Embed safety expectations into daily operations rather than relying solely on policy or oversight.
Lead programs covering machine guarding, lockout/tagout, ergonomics, powered industrial trucks, fall protection, confined space, and contractor safety.
Conduct risk assessments, job hazard analyses (JHAs), and safe-design reviews for new and modified processes.
Lead incident investigations and root-cause analysis, ensuring corrective actions address systemic risk drivers.
Ensure compliance with applicable environmental regulations covering air, water, waste, and hazardous materials.
Manage permitting, reporting, inspections, and waste management activities.
Identify pragmatic environmental improvements that align compliance, sustainability, and operational efficiency.
Develop and deliver effective EHS training for employees, supervisors, and leaders.
Use data and trends to drive prioritization, improvement actions, and leadership reporting.
Prepare for and support regulatory, internal, and customer audits.
Standardize scalable EHS processes suitable for a rapidly growing manufacturing campus.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Safety Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
7–10+ years of EHS experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and environmental compliance requirements.
Demonstrated success building EHS programs and safety culture in fast-paced or growth-oriented environments.
Proven ability to prioritize effectively, applying risk-based and 80/20 thinking to drive meaningful results.
