Environmental, Health, and Safety Intern

Responsibilities

• Ensure a clear understanding of the background on Per‑ and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and the current and future regulatory implications of the various PFAS substances in use at Seagate.
• Identify potential vendor chemical and component subgroups that could contain impacted PFAS substances.
• Identify critical manufacturers of these potential chemicals and vendor components.
• Investigate the usage of impacted PFAS substances and explore options for potential alternatives.
• Complete other environmental tasks as needed, gaining exposure to programs including Chemical Management, Wastewater, Stormwater, Hazardous Waste, and Air Emissions.
• Work both independently and in consultation with technical professionals at the U.S. site and Northern Ireland.
• Apply engineering, analytical, and communication skills to impact the bottom line.
• Gain experience with Seagate EHS policies and collaborate with both EHS and Facilities professionals.

Requirements

• Completion of coursework in environmental engineering, chemistry, related EHS programs, or another related field.
• Pursuit of a BS or MS degree in EHS, Environmental Engineering, or a related field, with a planned return to school in Fall 2027.
• Previous work experience that demonstrates the ability to take on challenging tasks, plan ahead, take ownership, and collaborate with others.

Pay

The estimated base wage range for this position is $24 – $35 per hour. The individual base wage is based on work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Schedule

Benefits are based on a 24 to 40‑hour‑per‑week schedule for a full calendar year and may differ depending on work location and tenure.

Location: Normandale, United States (campus spans the Edina and Bloomington suburbs).
