About the role

Ardaman & Associates, Inc. is seeking an Environmental/Geotechnical Technician in Orlando, Florida. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental and geotechnical sampling and analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Perform groundwater, surface water, soil and air sampling using various methods
  • Data gathering and record keeping
  • Monitoring and directing subcontractors
  • Exploring soil lithology and staking of borings using hand-held GPS devices
  • Asbestos sampling
  • Soil resistivity testing
  • Borehole logging or monitoring of sinkhole grouting
  • Self-motivated, dedicated, and compliant with safety guidelines
  • Team player with good attention to detail
  • Ability to work outdoors in various conditions, including heat and uneven terrain
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 40 lbs
  • Mathematical calculations
  • Weekends, overtime, and extended hours as needed
  • Travel and work at remote sites as needed
  • Excellent driving record
  • Background screening requirements

Requirements

  • At least 18 years old
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Secondary education in science is a plus, but not required
  • Good computer skills
  • 40 Hour OSHA HAZWOPER training is a plus
  • Must be a team player and have good attention to detail
  • Must be able to walk up and down slopes and on uneven terrain
  • Must be able to work outdoors in the heat
  • Must be able to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 40 lbs
  • Must be able to perform mathematical calculations
  • Must be able to work weekends, overtime, and/or extended hours when required
  • Must be able to travel and work at remote sites as needed
  • Must have an excellent driving record within company standards
  • Must pass background screening requirements including criminal history, motor vehicle check, drug testing, etc.
  • Local candidates preferred; no relocation
