Environmental Geologist

Responsibilities
- Collect soil and groundwater samples for subsurface assessment and remediation projects, following site-specific plans and safe work practices.
- Log soil samples accurately and maintain thorough, well-organized field notes, photos, and supporting documentation.
- Prepare complete chain-of-custody forms and record survey or field measurements on approved forms to support defensible results.
- Analyze and summarize field and laboratory data, then contribute to clear reports with sound conclusions and recommendations.
- Travel locally and regionally to project sites using a company vehicle and represent Atlas professionally with clients, partners, and contractors.
- Model a safety-first mindset by implementing Atlas health and safety requirements (including HAZWOPER expectations) and promoting proactive, continuous improvement.
Requirements
- 3+ years of environmental consulting experience that includes a mix of field work, sampling, data evaluation, and technical writing.
- Working knowledge of due diligence, site investigation, remediation, industrial hygiene, and environmental compliance work.
- Experience supporting Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (data collection and report writing).
- A demonstrated commitment to health and safety requirements and field readiness (40-hr HAZWOPER with 8-hr annual refresher).
- Strong communication skills, solid attention to detail, and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint).
- The ability to manage multiple priorities—working independently when needed and collaborating well as part of a team.
- Availability to travel ~50–70% and residence in Southern California.
- Ability to pass a drug screen and motor vehicle background check (for driving to project sites).
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional Certifications: HAZWOPER certification preferred.

$40.87 - $52.88 hourly rate
