Environmental Field Technician

About the role

A Field Technician at West Central Environmental Consultants (WCEC) and SET Environmental is responsible to:

• Ensure the health and safety of the crew, customer, and site by adhering to WCEC/SET safety policies and procedures by identifying, communicating, and mitigating hazards
• Take an active role on crews by participating in both scheduled and emergency response-based projects
• Maintain, clean, and organize trucks and trailers
• Aid in loading equipment and supplies for project needs
• Perform required duties in level A, B, C and D PPE including supplied air as necessary
• Exert moderate physical effort, including lifting up to 50lbs
• Work in a variety of weather conditions
• Support of various environmental projects ranging from, but not limited to: Confined Space Entry, CSE Environmental remediation, Waterway response, Hazardous materials clean up
• Perform other miscellaneous duties as necessary

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred
• Must be over 21 years old
• 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER or ability to obtain
• Must be flexible to changes in work schedule and be available for On-call
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to perform physical labor under direction of crew leads
• Ability to respond to out-of-town projects as needed
• Ability to speak, read, and write English sufficiently
• Industry/Construction experience preferred but not required
• Valid Driver's License with good driving record that meets SET insurance requirements
