Environmental Field Compliance Specialist
Job Summary
The Environmental Field Specialist will support Georgia Power in meeting compliance obligations and preparing for future needs through environmental compliance programs. They will provide support for the Environmental Management System (EMS) and Environmental Management Information System (EMIS), Enablon, and will lead new site pilots.
Job Requirements
BS or BA degree in a science-related field or equivalent work experience
3 to 5 years’ experience in environmental compliance, environmental project management, power generation, transmission and/or distribution operations, emergency response and planning, and compliance with regulations
Commitment to ethics, interpersonal and communication skills, and problem-solving
Knowledge of relevant federal, state, and local regulations, and proficiency in Enablon and other technologies
Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and travel across the state
Major Job Responsibilities
Build and maintain relationships with key internal customers and peers
Train and support the EMS and EMIS, including being an expert user of Enablon
Communicate best practices and facilitate between sites and environmental media
Lead new site pilots and support throughout the site adoption process
Identify and address new risks and continuous improvement opportunities
Obtain and maintain necessary certifications
Represent Georgia Power and Southern Company in external settings
Support as backup to other field specialists

At least one year of driving experience
No revocation of driving privileges within 36 months
No convictions of major traffic violations within 12 months
