About the role
The ideal candidate will support Flint Hills Resources' efforts to innovate and transform its environmental compliance systems, promoting environmental stewardship.
Responsibilities
- Apply subject matter expertise and excellent communication skills to help operations, business teams, and project managers understand, identify, and meet environmental compliance requirements.
- Drive environmental excellence through continuous improvement by balancing multiple priorities.
- Become an owner or custodian of assigned environmental programs, including reading and interpreting regulations, preparing and submitting compliance reports, and maintaining compliance records.
- Partner with facility waste contractors and site waste technicians to ensure timely and compliant management of waste.
- Perform routine inspections of waste storage areas to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Motivate, influence, and drive good business decisions forward while working with a diverse workforce.
- Demonstrate initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Participate in facility audits and conduct independent audits to verify and enhance environmental performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering; Environmental Science; or a related science discipline.
- Experience in a refinery or petrochemical setting.
- Experience in environmental compliance.
- Knowledge of federal and state laws governing environmental compliance.
- Knowledge of state and federal waste management regulations.

Pay
$90,000 - $120,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
