Qualifications
- Prepare and submit regulatory compliance reports and maintain environmental records for assigned programs.
- Prepare and submit data and reports to support Billerud sustainability reporting requirements, internal needs, and external customer requests.
- Work with operations, technical support, and management to ensure compliance with the mill’s regulatory permits and associated requirements.
- Serve as a mill liaison with various environmental and regulatory agencies.
- Evaluate day-to-day compliance, ensure the accuracy and validity of monitoring systems, investigate, and resolve environmental issues.
- Cookordination and oversight of testing for compliance and projects.
- Work with all team members to implement environmental policies and procedures.
- Promote the safety and health of all team members.
- Maintain effective communications and working relationships with all levels of the organization and regulatory agencies.
- Work with the mill certification coordinator to lead or support ISO 14001 program and facilitate conformance to the standard.
- Assist with environmental site audits and follow-up requirements.
- Prepare permit renewal applications.
- Utilize available resources to stay current with program compliance regulatory developments.
- Support the mill’s PSM and RMP compliance programs.
- Evaluate new and existing mill chemicals and additives to ensure compliance with environmental aspects.

- Physical stamina and agility to conduct on-site inspections of the facility and equipment.
Required Experience and Education
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Engineering or related field.
- Knowledge and understanding of applicable regulatory programs and environmental regulations, e.g. NPDES, EPCRA, ISO14001, TSCA, RMP/PSM, Clean Water Act, MACT I, MACT II, Boiler MACT, NSPS, GHG Reporting, solid/hazardous waste, etc.
