Job Responsibilities
- Ensure division compliance with all government rules and regulations.
- Initiate in-operations monitoring and checklists in support of environmental compliance.
- Initiate, supervise, and monitor projects to further environmental compliance.
- Provide supervision, training, and coaching to environmental team members.
- Shipments, data entry, inspections, training implementation, and program management, labeling, manifest tracking, and filing conduct employee training to support environmental stewardship and compliance.
- Conducts multiple inspections and audits on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis including weekly hazardous waste inspections as needed.
- Complete visual inspections and follow-up on fieldwork documentation, reporting, and sampling.
- Represent facility during agency inspections.
- Read, interpret, and remain current on governmental regulations pertaining to environmental compliance.
- Directly interface with regulators and participate in industry trade associations.
- Supervise permitting requirements for surface and underground water programs.
- Complete tasks in a safe and environmentally compliant manner by following EHS (environmental, health, and safety) policies, procedures, and best practices; support and assist peers in working in a safe, compliant manner; report unsafe acts or conditions, incidents, and deviations; and provide feedback to support continuous improvement in EHS performance.
Environmental Conditions, Physical & Lifting Requirements
- Regularly required to use telephone/radio and computer/tablet.
- Regularly required to work in outdoor weather conditions, wear PPE, including but not limited to a respirator, eye protection, hearing protection, and foot protection.
- Occasionally work near moving mechanical parts.
- Occasionally required to work in extreme heat (non-weather).
- Occasionally required to work in confined spaces, wet, humid conditions (non-weather), vibration, working at heights of 4’ or more with fall protection.
- Occasionally exposed to loud noise.
- Regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, talk, and hear;
- Occasionally required to use repetitive motion and reach with hands/arms.
- Requires clarity of vision and three-dimensional vision.
- Occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds.
