Environmental Compliance Intern

Loureiro Engineering Associates is seeking an Environmental Compliance Intern to join our Environmental Health & Safety Division in Plainville, CT. This internship offers an opportunity to support real-world environmental compliance projects for industrial, commercial, and institutional clients. Interns will work alongside experienced engineers and scientists to assist with compliance across multiple environmental media, including air, water, waste, and sustainability. This is a paid internship. This opportunity is ideal for students who are interested in gaining practical experience in environmental compliance, permitting, and sustainability programs. What You’ll Do Support environmental compliance projects involving air, wastewater, stormwater, hazardous waste, and spill preventionAssist in the preparation of reports and regulatory submissionsHelp develop and maintain environmental and safety plans and documentationConduct regulatory research and compile findings for team useParticipate in environmental audits and assessments as neededCollaborate with cross-functional teams on real client projectsPerform other duties as assigned Who You Are Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skillsClear and confident communicator, both written and verbalSelf-motivated and able to work both independently and collaborativelyFlexible and eager to learn in a fast-paced consulting environmentPassionate about environmental responsibility and compliance What You Bring Junior, senior, or graduate-level student pursuing a degree in Chemical EngineeringMinimum 3.0 GPAFamiliarity with environmental regulations (e.g., EPA, RCRA, CWA, CAA) is a plusExcellent communication, writing, and organizational skillsPrior internship, co-op, or project experience in environmental compliance or sustainability is a plus Loureiro Engineering Associates, Inc. is a full-service, employee-owned multidisciplinary consulting firm with operations in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, North Carolina, and Missouri.
