ENVIRONMENTAL AFFAIRS AND STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS CONSULTANCY

About the role

UNEP is seeking an Environmental Affairs and Strategic Partnerships consultancy to support mapping Canada’s international environmental priorities and strengthening partnerships with UNEP. The consultancy will produce three key deliverables in close cooperation with UNEP staff to leverage existing networks and identify emerging opportunities and risks.

Deliverables

• A document mapping Canada’s international environmental priorities, including emerging opportunities and risks relevant to UNEP, finalized in cooperation with UNEP staff to utilize their existing networks.
• A report matching Canada’s priorities with UNEP’s priorities and outlining a strategy for promoting new partnerships and mobilizing resources.
• A report with recommendations to deepen and/or establish strategic partnerships between UNEP and Canadian stakeholders, based on existing and emerging interactions facilitated by the consultant.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct research and analysis on Canada’s international environmental priorities and emerging trends.
• Collaborate with UNEP staff to map and validate findings, leveraging existing networks.
• Develop a strategy to align Canada’s priorities with UNEP’s goals and identify partnership opportunities.
• Draft reports with actionable recommendations to strengthen partnerships with Canadian stakeholders.
• Facilitate engagement with Canadian interlocutors to identify collaboration opportunities.
