Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Support compliance with OSHA and state regulatory requirements applicable to manufacturing operations, including timely submission of applicable OSHA and other regulatory reporting
- Assist in the development, implementation, and enforcement of EH&S policies, procedures, and safe work practices
- Conduct regular production floor inspections, job safety analyses (JSAs), and risk assessments
- Respond to workplace incidents and near misses on the manufacturing floor. Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, corrective action tracking, documentation of corrective actions, associated training of operators, and close out of incident cases
- Provide quarterly incident and corrective action summary review to/for local management team
- Train employees on machine safety, lockout/tagout (LOTO), PPE, hazard communication, and emergency response
- Lead and document annual hearing and auditory testing
- Drive daily and regular PPE compliance
- Support first aid supplies management process
Additional Role Responsibilities
- Maintain EH&S documentation, permits, logs, and records (OSHA 300/301, SDS, training records)
- Support workers’ compensation reporting and injury case management as assigned
- Analyze incident trends and provide actionable recommendations to reduce recurrence
- Support safety committees and encourage employee participation in safety initiatives
- Promote safety awareness through toolbox talks, signage, and continuous communication
- Communicate with and support other sites across the enterprise to ensure consistency across the organization
Professional Experience & Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in environmental health & safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Safety, Environmental Science, or related field — or equivalent manufacturing EH&S experience
- 1–3 years of EH&S or safety experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, machine guarding, LOTO, and hazard communication
- Strong documentation, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work on the manufacturing floor and interact with employees at all levels
